Samko/Miko Bus Trip
On October 13th a group of women through the Peterborough Moms Group were blessed with a free bus trip to the Samko and Miko warehouse in Richmond Hill. The bus ride up was fantastic. Our bus driver was great and got us all there and back right on time.
Before going in the warehouse, Kim Finley who organized the event, informed everyone on the bus of the family that the Peterborough Moms Group is sponsoring for Christmas. Everyone generously contributed to buying gifts for a single mother and her three children.
"Personally, it was my first time visiting the warehouse. It will certainly not be my last. It was fantastic! I was able to find a huge variety of things for my 1 year old son that ranged from books and educational toys to classic wooden toys and puzzles as well as a picnic table and blow up play structure! What?s more is I am an elementary school French immersion teacher and I was able to purchase a large amount of books in French for my classroom that cost as little as $1.00 / each! Most of us left with at least 3 large bags full of purchases, some of us with many more!" states Laura, an active member of the network.
On the way home, gift bags were received from the wonderful sponsors who made the trip free, and numbers were drawn for additional prizes.
